Dr. Allison Gandre believes in taking an active natural approach to achieving lifelong health.  She is a Hawaii and Washington licensed Naturopathic Physician, with clients and patients world-wide.

Dr. Allison Gandre received her pre-medical science degree in Nutrition from the University of Texas in Austin, TX, USA, with additional coursework in exercise physiology and advanced sports nutrition.  Dr. Allison Gandre received her doctorate from Bastyr University, an internationally renowned integrative naturopathic medical school in Seattle, WA USA.

Dr. Allison Gandre uses a technique called Neural Prolotherapy to treat patients with pain conditions such as tendonitis, osteoarthritis, chronic regional pain syndrome and most musculoskeletal injuries or pain conditions.  Neural Prolotherapy is a newer treatment option discovered by Dr. John Lyftogt of New Zealand, aimed at treating nerves to reduce pain, repair and regenerate tissues.

Dr. Allison Gandre offers Nutritional IVs for a variety of conditions.  Common uses of Nutritional IVs  include:

  •  muscle recovery and perfomance in athletes
  • aiding healing post-surgery
  • immune support
  • post-cancer treatment
  • malabsorption disorders
  • chelation of heavy metals
  • many other disorders

Dr. Gandre strives to guide and empower her patients to optimal health through natural methods that relate to body, mind and spirit.  She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Hawaii Society of Naturopathic Physicians.

Dr. Gandre now offers Nutritional IV’s!

A major benefit of IV nutrition is that nutrients are delivered to cells without interference from the digestive system.  This mode of treatment is ideal for people suffering from bloating,  Chron’s disease, maldigestion, IBS and other digestive disorders where nutrients may not be absorbed properly.  Similarly, many conditions cause the body to use up nutrients at a faster rate, and individualized IV nutrition can help correct this deficiency and aid in healing.  Extreme athletes also benefit from IV nutrition; nutrients such as magnesium, B-vitamins, calcium, vitamin C and glutathione are injected directly in the blood stream to optimize energy capacity, cell function and recovery.

Neural Prolotherapy: An Alternative Treatment for Pain and Injury

According to the American Academy of Pain Medicine, pain afflicts more Americans than heart disease, diabetes and cancer combined.  Unfortunately, conventional medicine’s approach of pain management comes with numerous drug side effects and little hope of a cure.  A new approach known as neural prolotherapy (NPT), founded by Dr. John Lyftogt of New Zealand, offers a non-toxic treatment, and in many cases, a cure.

NPT involves micro-injections of dextrose diluted in sterile water.  Injections are made with a very fine needle, targeting areas of neurogenic inflammation.  The solution injected seems to antagonize a specific pain receptor responsible for perpetuating the pain and degeneration cycle. To put it simply, when this pain receptor is turned on, repair and renewal of tissues is turned off.  By antagonizing this receptor, patients get pain relief and the body is able to effectively heal itself.  NPT has clinically been shown to relieve chronic pain and speed healing of injuries, with a success rate greater than 75% in most cases.

Dr. Allison has studied NPT under Dr. John Lyftogt (New Zealand) and Dr. Liza Smigel (Big Island).  Dr. Allison is also proficient in nutritional therapy and finds a combination treatment to be most effective.  A typical treatment protocol involves 6-8 weekly or bi-weekly sessions.  Cost of treatment varies from $150 to $250 per area, with multiple areas being discounted.
